Painting Places & Soothing Spaces was founded by Jasmean Benford, a passionate entrepreneur with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management. The company was built on the pillars of strong leadership, strategic vision, transparency, integrity, and a deep commitment to excellence.

Jasmean’s journey in the painting industry began in 2009 with Sherwin-Williams as a Management Trainee, where she gained invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience that shaped her career. She worked her way from Assistant Manager to Store Manager, successfully leading multiple locations and growing them to generate over $2 million in revenue. During her five-year tenure, she earned several accolades, including the prestigious Masters and Presidents Club awards.

Through the meaningful relationships she built with contractors and clients, Jasmean became inspired to step from behind the sales counter and pick up a paintbrush herself. Curious about why so many professionals loved the craft—and determined to challenge herself—she transitioned into the field, joining a team of painters as a Government Contractor. This hands-on experience further strengthened her skills and ultimately sparked the vision for launching her own company.

In 2022, Painting Places & Soothing Spaces was established and has continued to grow as a trusted small business. Jasmean has been blessed with the opportunity to support  commercial and residential clients who entrust her to transform and soothe their spaces. She finds painting deeply relaxing and, as someone who has always loved interior design, takes great pride in bringing her customers’ visions to life. She values building genuine relationships, listening closely to clients’ ideas, and offering thoughtful suggestions to ensure the best customer experience possible.

Outside of work, Jasmean enjoys spending time with her family, her pet, and playing basketball. As a former college athlete, she has always embraced a team-first mindset. That philosophy carries into her business today. She takes pride in surrounding herself with like-minded individuals who continuously strive for growth—spiritually, personally, academically, and entrepreneurially. Jasmean credits much of her company’s success to the incredible team of men and women she has worked with throughout the years. Many have become like family, and their talents, loyalty, dedication, and friendship have been instrumental to the growth of Painting Places & Soothing Spaces.
